Subject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: BA (Hons) in Film and Documentary. Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, 2021 Summary: This thesis looks at four films to ask the question: what makes an anti-fascist film good? It will explore the various tools a filmmaker has at their disposal to elicit emotion and ask how these tools can be used to carry an anti-fascist message. It will explore the reaction from wider society when filmmakers attempt to make explicitly anti-fascist films. It will also ask if film can be used as a tool in combating such evil as fascism. It is hoped that this will create an understanding of how best to approach the subject matter and an understanding of the full potential of cinema regarding this matter.
