Out of the blue [videorecording] : wind energy and wind turbines / produced with support from the Danish Energy Agency and the Danish Wind Industry Association.

The film deals with utilising wind power for electricity production. It tells the story of the development of the modern wind turbine in Denmark - from professor Poul La Cour's first test turbine in 1891 and up to modern megawatt turbines in large offshore wind farms. It is the story about a young visionary industry, where the pioneer spirit of the grassroots movements at an early stage has been combined with advanced technology, optimal utilization of new materials, and advanced research. An industry which in a few years has become Denmark's third largest export industry with a multi-billion dollar turnover and 15,000 employees. The film mirrors in picture, sound and editing the dynamics that characterises this development - naturally contrasted by beautiful nature sequences in all kinds of weather all year round.
