My street [DVD] /

My street [DVD] / directed and produced by Sue Bourne - 1 videodisc (48 mins) : sound, color ; 4 3/4 in.

Film maker Sue Bourne had lived in the same street for fifteen years, yet she knew practically none of her neighbours. She rather liked the anonymity this gave her, but she was also nosy and wanted to find out what lay behind the 115 doors in her street. She began knocking on those doors and meeting the neighbours. This award-winning film is the story of what she found. From feckless Kiwi boozers to lonely old age pensioners. From the most unlikely millionaire to a Margaret Thatcher impersonator. The range of characters in this one very ordinary street was remarkable. But what made the documentary so memorable was the tragic stroy of a young man that lay at the heart of the film - Adam, the loner no-one else seemed to know about who would die alone in his room
